Worship in Pink is a unique program for congregations of all faiths and community organizations to help raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. The goals of Worship in Pink are to provide breast health education in our communities and increase the number of women receiving mammograms. Worship in Pink programs are also held in various cities across the country.
Legacy Health and Komen Oregon have partnered to present Worship in Pink in the Portland, Oregon and SW Washington metropolitan area. The primary activities of inspiration, education and hope occur within the congregations during October, Breast Health Month.
Our Health Ministry Committee is planning for Trinity to participate in this event again this year. We will host a luncheon on Saturday, October 8th at 11:30 with special activities and a guest speaker. This is a free event and open to all members of the congregation and community. Invite your daughters, mothers, sisters, sons and spouses. Reservations are necessary so we can be prepared. Sign up on the Health Ministries board, leave a care gram, or call the church office.
At our worship services on October 8th and 9th, we would like to recognize all who are survivors of breast cancer. This is a wonderful opportunity to embrace those who have been through this, both women and men, and to encourage the importance of early detection. Put this special weekend on your calendars, and stay tuned for more information.
